Background
The goddess of witchcraft, magic and crossroads appears in Episode 33. She scolds Hades after assuming he has taken advantage of her young friend. She also seems to enjoy manipulating and punishing people to accomplish certain goals. She does have a soft spot for her friends, most specifically Persephone, who she met in the mortal realm while studying poisonous plants.
Appearance
Hecate is darkly elegant with a very sophisticated fashion sense. Her appearance is very fitting to the underworld as she has sleek black hair, blue skin, and bright, yellow eyes.
Her main style of dress is black pantsuits with high-end detailing and golden jewelry. She buys limited edition designs and will rearrange her schedule for online auctions. She continues to wear black in the mortal realm with a long, black dress and veil.
Relationships
hades
Hecate appears to be Hades’ good friend. She encourages him to foster friendships and emotional connections beyond being immersed in his work. She also doesn’t hesitate to call Hades on out on his behavior.
persephone
Hecate is also somewhat fond of Persephone, having spent time with her and Demeter in the Mortal Realm. In Episode 34, she states that she and Persephone have been exchanging letters ever since she left. She was also happy to see her in the Underworld. She and Persephone exchanged a big hug.
Hecate trusts in Persephone’s abilities with full confidence when she started her work as an intern.
alecto, tisiphone, megaera
Hecate works with the Furies. She appears to be friendly with Alecto. Alecto even teased her about playing matchmaker.
thanatos, minthe
Hecate inwardly refers to them as “the Brats.” She reprimands Thanatos after Thanatos complains about Persephone and makes him wear the Punishment Shirt. Hecate also states she’s willing to help out Minthe, but Minthe’s self-destructive nature makes it so hard for her. She also calls Minthe out and tells her that her wanting to apologize was really just for her own self-interest.
Occupation
Hecate works as a consultant for Underworld Corp. She performs a lot of important tasks and duties including delegating workers and assisting Hades.
Skills & Abilities
Hecate is decisive and efficient. She is able to read situations and quick decisions.
She is well versed in the laws of the realms and enjoys taking part in punishments for transgressions.
She also has the tendency to provide insights without offering definitive advice on choices. As the Goddess of Crossroads, she lays out paths to options.
