The Underworld
The Underworld
The Kingdom of the Underworld is ruled by Hades, God of the Dead. Cloaked in eternal darkness, it’s where all mortal souls go when they die…and it’s also where cell phones are made!
Hades’ Home
Hades’ house contains out of print books, a collection of amazing artifacts, and, as described by Persephone, a pretentious indoor pool. It is also home to all of his dogs. It is in deep shades of blue and has an elegant, clean, modern interior.
FEATURES IN HADES’ HOME:
An indoor pool
A library
Guest Bedroom(s)
Home Office
A bathhouse
The Underworld Corp
Four large skyscrapers make up the Underworld Corporation, the massive empire run by Hades.
Hephaestus’ Office
In episode 142, we get to meet Hephaestus and see his office. Hephaestus is seen heading to his office through what looks like the server room in the Underworld Corp IT department. Complete guess based off of server rooms I’ve seen and TV shows.
We don’t know where exactly his office is located. What floor or tower, but based on the amount of coffee cups and work stations, we can deduce he might have coworkers besides the lovely AI Aetna.
The Four Main Towers
Tower 1 - Hades’ Office, Main Offices, The Library
Tower 2
Tower 3 - Fates
Tower 4 - Tartarus
Tower IV: Tartarus
Tower 4 acts as a portal to Tartarus, a deep abyss and dungeon for the darkest and most wicked souls and beings. The more dangerous the being, the lower the floor of their prison. Kronos is imprisoned on the bottom floor.
Employees in the Underworld Corp are free to use the company’s facilities, which includes a gym and an indoor pool.
The Underworld Checkpoint
The Underworld Checkpoint is overseen by an orange fiery daemon, whose name is currently unknown. Beings need a passport in order to be able to pass through the checkpoint.
Acheron / The Beach
The Acheron is where the Mortal Realm meets the Afterlife. When mortals die, their souls wind up on the beach, where they must wait for 100 years if they don’t have a single obolo coin to pay Charon, the ferryman.
The Library
The Library is where the records of every mortal’s life are kept. The shades have red scrolls where they record the lives of every single mortal as it happens. Whenever a mortal is born, a single scroll is started. When a mortal dies, the scroll is filed away in the library.
Because the scrolls indicate every event that transpires in a mortal’s life, it is used for trials when a soul comes into the Underworld.
Hecate’s Home
Like Hecate, her home is basked in elegance and flair. It is where she could get a good night’s sleep…if Hades doesn’t call her with a crisis.
The Doggy Daycare
Russell needs his ear drops at precisely 2 P.M. They better not mess it up… or else Hades will know.
The Abandoned Ice Cream Factory
Don’t piss off the King of the Underworld, or you might lose an eye here.
The Fates’ Archive
The Fates keep their records in tapes and are serious hoarders.
The Bank
It’s not romantic.
Hades’ Illusion Room
A place for Hades to go when he wants to be alone. He takes Persephone in here after Ares uses his powers on her and she starts to feel dizzy.
Minthe’s Apartment
Hades owns the high rise where Minthe lives on the 99th floor. He gave the apartment to her as a gift.
The Pawnshops
The Underworld has seven and a half pawn shops. According to Hecate, Olympus doesn’t have any pawn shops because they are “too respectable.”
Underworld Lodge
You can either request for a single or a double. With access to the ice machine. Careful not to use the pool though, and the wi-fi is not entirely reliable.
Underworld Shopping Center
For hoarding stationery, gossiping with sales ladies, and tender kisses with the King of the Underworld
