Episode 197: Mullet

He takes her to his underground base, a large tent with fancy furniture. Ares proceeds to come onto her and teases her in not subtle ways. In doing so, he updates her on the situation a bit. Persephone recaps, “The outcome of the trial had a major political impact that affected the Underworld/Olympus treaty, leading to less supply chains and resources and ultimately leading to the Underworld closing its borders to non-Underworld citizens!?”
He also reveals no one has seen Hades in years and he and Athena were set to guard the border. Ares admits to letting Cerberus pass because he didn’t want to take him on.
“It’s come to my attention that we are both smoking hotties.”

Persephone realizes Ares is so insistent on hitting on her because Aphrodite broke up with him. Emotional now, Ares reveals she also got married. In a quick negotiation so she can get on her way, Persephone agrees to a platonic lunch date with Ares if he will let her pass without incident.
Persephone continues on her journey, coming to a glowing circular passageway. A giant guardian with glowing eyes recognizes her as someone it is permitted to let pass into the realm and points her to the entrance. As she’s walking up the stairs, she begins getting floating and getting forcibly pulled in.
“We’ve been expecting you, my lady.”
