Episode 200: You Should Sit Down

Editor: Bre Boswell
Released: 25 June 2022

Zeus arrives in time to help Persephone fight a possessed Hermes off. He reveals to Persephone that it is not Hermes himself but Kronos who controls him. He then searches for something to drink and tells her to sit down. He begins to share the story of his early life.

“Kronos was absolutely unhinged in the final years of his reign.”

Zeus

He was raised on Mount Ditke by nymphs but often frightened by Kronos’ madness and had no clue to his history or powers. Rhea arrived one day in his early adulthood, telling him the truth. She was his mother and he had two older brothers he needed to save. The only way he could do that would be to use the power of a fertility goddess. He doesn’t explain in detail what happened with how, when, or why he consumed Metis but does express regret.

He tried to change the narrative around fertility goddesses, to hide the power they possess so it wouldn’t be used against them. He reveals that Poseidon, Hera, and Hestia have succumbed to a sleeping sickness. Before she fell ill, Hera had nightmares about Kronos.

Persephone jumps up and begins to leave, intent on finding Hades. She wants to save him as soon as possible in the event he too has been overtaken by Kronos.
