Rose-Colored Boy
The chapter title for Episode 12, “Rose-Colored Boy”, is the name of a Paramore song.
Moana
There are several cultures where forehead touch greetings are common. The Disney movie Moana is based on Polynesian culture, and the way Moana connects with the giant goddess Te Fiti at the end is very reminiscent of the way Hades connected with his titan mother as a child. This forehead-to-forehead greeting is called hongi among the Maori and honi among Hawaiians. It is also practiced in the Tibetan and Bedouin cultures.
Sleeping Beauty
The connection here is the idea behind the trope that true love awakens (or in many stories, true love’s kiss). The comparison could also be made to Snow White.
The Royal Painting
When Persephone made the entire world bloom, flower petals are seen falling through a huge hole by the massive royal portrait in Hera and Zeus’ mansion. In Episode 86, when Ares was talking about her mother’s rage, she was seen burning the painting.
Hades and Demeter
Demeter is the only one among the traitors who has her back turned on Hades when he’s walking towards the Underworld.
Persephone’s Bow
Persephone’s bow is similar to hairstyle of the “Head of Aphrodite” (The Barlett Head) sculpture.
Beauty and the Beast
There are possible multiple parallels between Lore Olympus and Beauty and the Beast.
Food in Rows of Six
When Hades transported Persephone in his illusion room, the food he served her were in rows of six. In some versions of Persephone’s myth, Hades fed her six pomegranate seeds, making her bound in the Underworld for six months of the year.
Post-It on Hades’ laptop
A post-it on Hades’ laptop indicates the time of his dinner with Minthe.
Hebe’s doodle on Ares’ arm cast
As Zeus complains about his family to Hades, Hebe is seen doodling on Ares’ arm cast. This is seen again later when Ares talks to Persephone.
Hades owns a Barley Mother cereal
While looking for a pancake mix, a box of Barley Mother cereal is found in Hades’ cupboard.
“Sugarsnaps!”
After Minthe gets turned into a plant, Hades mutters, “Oh, sugarsnaps”, an expression that Persephone often uses.
“Proserpina”
While at the clinic, the nurse and staff address Persephone as “Proserpina.” Proserpina or Proserpine is the Roman name for Persephone.
“This is war.”
When Persephone states “This is war” after stealing Apollo’s lyre, it is later revealed that Ares heard her.
Persephone swears for the first time
Persephone swears for the first time, and she does it in defense of Hades.
“You look sufficient.”
Persephone tells Hades, “You look sufficient.” It’s the same thing he told her when she tried on Hera’s coat, the night they met at his house.
Lurking is a pervert’s sport
Hebe yells “Perverts!” at her parents when she found them lurking. Hera has taught her that “lurking is a pervert’s sport” as revealed in Episode 29.
Hera’s Assistant
Zeus tries to persuade Hera to hire an assistant. Later, he hires a nymph for her named Echo.
